Diffusion of Healthcare Innovation at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

Baldr member Atlas Research helped the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) launch and continue to advance ongoing innovation efforts in the way our Government cares for Veterans. Through our work on the VA Innovators Network (VAIN) and the Diffusion of Excellence Initiative (DoE), Atlas has developed fully-integrated processes that help VA systematically and efficiently identify, evaluate and spread clinical and administrative best practices and digital solutions.

By utilizing Atlas’ in-depth background in Large Scale Event Planning Logistics, Internal and External Communications, Stakeholder Engagement, Facilitated Implementation, Design Support, and Human Capital Development, VA is able to develop and support innovation programs that successfully engage with a diverse and dispersed healthcare system.

Atlas’ efforts create cultural and systematic change in a large, complicated ecosystem that touches the lives of millions of veteran patients. This Diffusion lifecycle has been used for 7 years to discover 3.6k+ Shark Tank submissions, test, evaluate 89 promising practices, and replicate these practices 1k+ times across the enterprise.
