Veterans Health Administration Strategic Priorities

Baldr Consulting member Atlas Research partnered with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) in a project that has significantly impacted the future of Veteran healthcare. Our task was to develop the "Veterans Health Administration Priorities and Strategic Enablers" report for 2023, a key document that is one of the cornerstones in VHA's strategic planning.

Our approach to this project was multi-faceted. We conducted in-depth interviews with the VHA Under Secretary for Health and other top VHA executives, gaining invaluable insights and perspectives. Additionally, we worked alongside VHA leadership Tiger Teams, blending their expertise with the Under Secretary’s strategic vision. Our team also undertook extensive original research to ensure that the document was both visionary and grounded in reality.

The culmination of our efforts was a report detailing six strategic priorities and six strategic enablers. These components were carefully crafted to guide VHA over the next two years, providing a clear direction for decision-making, operational improvements, system strengthening, resource application, and support for the execution of VHA’s 2022-2028 strategic plan and long-range plan framework.
